Farm Kids Room
Ariane, was 8 months pregnant with her second child when she set out to create a farm themed big boy room for her son Rémi, age 3.  Her Google search from her home in Montreal led her to My Wonderful Walls wall mural kits. She found using our wall stencils not only fun but easy even for someone who has minimal artistic comfort. Here’s what Ariane had to say about the mural making process with My Wonderful Walls stencil kits.

My Wonderful Walls:  What product did you purchase?

Ariane:  The Farm Stencil Kit

MWW:  Tell us a little about why you chose this theme and/or how is this mural a good fit .

Ariane:  Ever since he was a baby, my son, Rémi, has been fascinated with farm animals, especially roosters. At first I was searching online for illustrations depicting farm animals: I googled keywords like "farm", "child's bedroom", etc. and found your site. I was super excited and started wondering if I would be able to create such a wonderful room myself. After reading your customers' comments on how easy it was and watching the how-to video, I decided I would give it a try. The least I can say is I have no regrets!

MWW:  What was your child's reaction to the wall mural when he first saw it?

Ariane:  He was delighted! He pointed at all the animals and said "Look, Mom!" with a big smile on in face.

MWW:  Why did you choose stencils over wall stickers?

Ariane:  I thought the result would be better with paint and I knew I would have more fun doing it!

MWW:    How long did it take you to complete the project?

Ariane:  All in all, not more than 10 hours

MWW:  What did you enjoy about the wall mural creation experience? Was it what you had expected?

Ariane:  It was super fun to do. The bigger stencils (like the barn) were a little more challenging to install correctly on the wall but I managed to do it on my own with a little trial and error. It is overall very easy to do, the stencils stick well to the walls and they are very good quality. I had a blast doing my son's room and I was very excited to see it progress.

MWW:  Do you have a favorite piece or favorite scene you created?

Ariane:  I particularly like the barn stencil with the rooster weather vane - I used golden acrylic paint for it - and the big sunflowers.

MWW:  Do you have any helpful tips for people who use our products?

Ariane:  Don't put too much paint on your sponge, especially when working on the edges of the stencils, to avoid bleeding under the stencils. The stencils are easy to use and the plastic is very good quality. They can be re-used over and over without losing their adherence. The instructions given in the online video tutorial are clear and easy to follow.

MWW:  If you could change one thing about the decorating process, what would it be?

Ariane:  Seriously, I wouldn't change a thing. I had lots of fun creating my son's room, I'm very proud of the result, my son loves it and I am already starting to think about what project I could do for my youngest son.

We are so glad you enjoyed the process of creating a wall mural for your son and hope we can help you with that next project as well! Ariane told us she is currently on maternity leave from her job as a translator for an international accounting firm and enjoys reading, playing with her kids, travelling and shopping. She said English isn’t her first language so some of her answers to our questionnaire might be bizarre but we think her message came through loud and clear. Thanks Ariane for your great testimonial!
