Organize and De-Clutter the Baby Room – Simply and Affordably

When deciding on the baby nursery decor did you forget to designate spaces for the all the “stuff” that so quickly accumulates? Here are a few simple and affordable ways to organize and de-clutter the room, creating a harmonious space for sleep and play.

Labeled Baskets and Bins for Toys: Solve organizational problems by giving everything a place of its own. Separate and categorize all items in the room. Use baskets, plastic bins or boxes and clearly label each one. Miscellaneous Box: Don’t forget to designate a container for all those miscellaneous items that don’t seem to fit into any category of the kid room decor.

Make Your Own Containers: If you don’t want to spend the money on containers, you can always use a plain brown box and cover it with wrapping paper or construction paper.

Utilize Closet Space: Whether you have a small closet or a large walk-in, there is always space if you organize wisely. Separate and categorize all the items. Use shoe boxes, bins or baskets and label accordingly. Then stack them on the shelves and under the clothing rack.

Boxes for Future Babies: Prevent childrens bedrooms from getting overstuffed by going through the closet and dresser at least every three months or so and removing what no longer fits. Label boxes or plastic bins by clothing size and stow away for babies-to-be.

Under the Bed/Crib Storage Containers: There is also storage space to be found in kid rooms under the crib or bed. Purchase several long and thin clear storage containers and store out-of-season clothing underneath. Keep Books Accessible: Promote reading from an early age making sure you have plenty of shelving space for books.

Donation Box: Keep a “DONATE” box in an accessible space, near your baby boy nursery or baby girl nursery. Each time you come across something that your child no longer uses, put it in the box. When the box gets full, take it to the donation center. I’m Stephanie from MyWonderfulWalls.com, where we make it easy for your walls to be wonderful.
