Hand Painted Wall Letters for a Baby Nursery or Kids Room

Want to add that personal touch to the nursery mural? You can finalize your baby nursery decor instantly with personalized wall letters. We’ve got an easy method to hand paint perfect kids wall letters. After learning how simple it is to do, we ensure you that you’ll have the confidence to do it yourself.

You’ll need: A small, flat head brush, painter’s tape, acrylic paint, a ball-point pen, and either a very soft pencil (8B works best), a piece of chalk or a pastel stick.

  1. Print out your child’s name on a letter or legal size piece of paper. If you want really large letters, then print out one letter per page. There is a wide variety of fonts from which to choose, and you can do this with any word-processing or graphic software.
  2. Turn over the sheet(s) of paper that you’ve printed your letters on. Rub your medium of choice (pencil, chalk or pastel) on the back on the paper, making sure you completely cover where the letters are. Then, tap off any excess residue.
  3. Tape it on the wall with the letters facing out.
  4. Use a ball point pen to trace all the edges of each wall letter. Be sure to trace all the inner and outer edges.
  5. Pull off the paper, and you’ll have a transfer of your kids wall letters.
  6. Paint them in.
  7. After your paint dries, wipe off any residue. Once clean, touch it up with a little paint if necessary.

That’s it. See how simple it is to hand paint decorative wall letters? And like our mural kits, no artistic skill is required. Anyone can do it!

You may also consider painting other words or sayings on the baby room wall that go along with our mural themes. Here are some nursery decorating ideas for hand painted wall letters that complement our nursery murals.

TRANSPORTATION THEME BABY BOY NURSERY
Reach for the stars.
To the stars...
Come fly with me.
I believe I can fly.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star…
Believe in yourself.
Use your imagination.
If you can dream it, you can do it.
Your dreams will take you anywhere.
Go forth and do great things!
Chugga chugga choo choo!
Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!
Go! Slow! Stop!
To the rescue!
The sky is the limit.
Think big.

How does your garden grow?
Cultivate the garden within.
Great oaks from little acorns grow.
Flower child.
From small beginnings come great things.
Bee kind - Bee happy - Bee true
The earth laughs in flowers.
Bloom where you are planted.
Life is beautiful.
Growing like a weed.
Heaven on earth.
Bless the flowers and the weeds, my birds and bees.
Caution! Snail (bunny, duck, etc.) crossing.
For thee the earth puts forth sweet flowers.
Fresh as a daisy.
Plant kindness and gather love.
Free as a bird.
Busy as a bee.
Proud as a peacock.
Dance like nobody's watching.
God Bless the Children.
Dream a little dream...
