Netherland Dad Creates Colorful Jungle Murals for His “Kinderen”

2-year old Indy in her baby brother's jungle theme room

As many of our readers know, most of the time when our customers send in photos of the rooms they have created with our wall stickers or wall mural stencil kits, it is a room belonging to a family right here in the United States or often to our northern Canadian neighbors. Today, we have something quite a bit different from the norm to share with you: we would like to introduce, Rolf, the father of 2-year-old daughter, Indy, and newborn son, Dylan – who all live in Huizen, Netherlands!

It is amazing to not only have a father be the one to contact us about the project he completed (typically it is other moms that get in touch with us) using the Jungle Safari Stencil Kit, but also the fact that he and his family reside in a completely different country more than 4,000 miles from here. My Wonderful Walls is proud to have spread their wings to Huizen, which is a small town near Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands.

The project, which was originally intended for newborn Dylan’s nursery, ended up claiming a spot in Indy’s room as well. The Jungle Safari Stencil Kit was a great option for Rolf’s little ones since it appeals to both girls and boys of all ages. For Indy, who loves elephants and animals of all sizes, the jungle theme could not have been more perfect.

During the time it took Rolf to complete the nursery and Indy’s wall, he found enjoyment and excitement in the idea that every wall stencil he painted slowly changed the mood of the scene and the overall look of the room. According to Rolf, Indy absolutely loves it, and he knows that Dylan will love it too.

Before starting the project, Rolf happened to be surfing YouTube for room wall stencils where he found the My Wonderful Walls video. He immediately knew that the company and their beautiful products were the perfect fit for his children, and so he purchased the stencils right away. Rolf found the Jungle Safari Kit easy to use, lots of fun, and is immensely proud of how the project turned out.

It’s becoming more common these days to hear from customers from other countries, and goes to show that My Wonderful Walls has REACHED with the giraffes to new places, and can make wonderful walls not just in America, but also across the globe! We are proud of this success, not only for our company, but for Rolf and his children: Indy and Dylan.

This shows that our wall stencils, and our wall stickers can help children grow and use their imaginations throughout the world. It does not matter what your cultural background, or where you live, every child can find happiness in the simplicity and beauty of our wall stickers and wall stencil kits. Our goal is to make people everywhere happy, and knowing that a family in a small town near Amsterdam, Netherlands, has found that happiness has given us even more excitement about the work that we are blessed to get to do each day.

Congratulations, Rolf, on creating a GRRRREAT, well, wonderful room for your children!

3-Hour Transportation Room Redo – Customer Spotlight from Chattanooga, TN

Although the products at My Wonderful Walls are created the same way, packaged the same way, and shipped the same way for each and every order, they end up creating completely different spaces for each and every customer. According to Laura, the mother of two boys – Seth who is five and Aaron who is two – when she saw the Transportation Theme Wall Stickers, she knew they were perfect for her two very different darling boys.

In fact, when describing her boys’ personalities, she had this to say, “Their personalities can be seen in the way each of them approaches going downhill on a bike. Aaron, our tenacious and outgoing toddler, sees a hill and races toward it to get as much momentum as he can so he can fly down it with reckless abandon, laughing the entire way. Seth, our cautious and analytical preschooler, sees the hill in the distance, stops his bike, gets off, and starts asking questions about how fast he’ll go, whether or not he’ll fall off his bike, and whether it would be safer to walk his bike down the hill. He reluctantly gets back on the bike after some encouragement, pedals slowly to the start of the hill, and at a snail’s pace – with his brakes on the entire way – creeps to the base of the hill long after his younger brother has finished.”

train_wall_stickers_decals_transportation themeLaura chose the Transportation Theme Wall Stickers because she believed the stickers would be easier than painting the transportation theme wall stencils, and as different as they are, both of her boys live and breathe trucks and vehicles. According to Laura, her crafting ability is at the level of a kindergartener, and the project still receives the response, “You did this?” from anyone who sees the room.

Seth and Aaron feel ecstatic about their new room, and the first time they saw the completed room they turned and said, “Mommy, you did it perfect!” All in all, they all feel that the room turned out terrific, and she and the boys were thrilled with the entire experience.

In fact, after spending about three hours over an entire weekend – the longest part was waiting for the paint to dry – Laura was extremely pleased with how easy it was to apply the wall stickers. Fun for mom and easy for the kids, there was truly something for everyone throughout the application process. And since the wall stickers can easily be removed and re-applied time and time again, the sticker scenes can be changed with every dream and idea the boys may latch onto next.

Additionally, with two boys that are very active and playful, the durability of the wall stickers is something that Laura is very thankful for. There is none of the ripping or color fading that other decals may fall prey to in this bedroom! It seems only fitting that the Transportation Theme Wall Stickers is the favorite of these two boys who are always VROOMING around!

Thank you, Laura, for sharing your boys’ great room with us!

Dallas Parents Create Animal Room Wonderland For Their Little Oceanographer!

For the past two years, six-year-old Molly has sworn off everything girly – from flowers to princesses; she has even decided on blue as her favorite color. Her mother and father, Emily and Jeremy, were planning on redecorating her room with an Under The Sea theme when they discovered they were having twins and had to put the plans on hold.

When it came time to discuss the redecorating again, because they were also planning on having Molly change rooms to make way for the twins, they wanted to do something extra special. Emily, who knew Molly was a lover of the orca whale, and had collected a few items here and there getting ready for the ocean-room makeover, wanted to make sure that was still what Molly wanted. Her response? “Well Mommy, you know… I love ocean animals AND land animals.”

So, Emily went back to the drawing board, or in this case the Internet, and began searching again – this time with Molly’s help. In her original search for ocean-themed rooms, she found My Wonderful Walls’ Under the Sea Set on etsy.com, thinking it was adorable, and asked Molly to check it out. Unfortunately, after seeing the mermaids, and thinking about Ariel, a known Disney Princess, that was definitely out.

After continuing the search, Molly immediately yelled out, “MOMMY! Go back!! That one has a fox and an OWL!!” Upon further inspection Emily and Molly noticed the Forest Friends Wall Sticker Kit included much more – a rabbit, a frog, a turtle, a deer, birds… and it was decided – there was no looking elsewhere, and according to Emily, “My little animal lover was sold!”

Although Emily, who was 32 weeks pregnant at the time, allowed Jeremy to do most of the work, was unaware that My Wonderful Walls also sold wall stencil kits, she is still pleased with her purchase of the wall stickers. She loves the look and texture of the stickers and the fact that they have different color tones in them. She feels that they add just a little extra pop to the room that painted stencils may lack.

When it comes to Jeremy, who was skeptical about wall stickersto begin with, he comments quite often to his wife, “Yeah, you made a good find with those stickers. I love how nice these stickers are. Not that cheap, plastic-looking vinyl stuff!” Emily was also quite surprised at the helpfulness of co-owner, Stephanie Goins. She wanted to know about paint colors and had emailed the company; she was pleased to receive feedback quickly and completely loved the entire experience.

As for six-year-old Molly, her mom says she “loves the ENTIRE thing…she’s had a lot of fun with the mouse that Daddy hid behind her shoe bucket!” Way to go Emily and Jeremy for creating such a wonderful room for your terrific daughter, and congratulations on having twins!! We hope to help you create a room for them in the future!!

Thank you, Emily, Jeremy and Molly, for sharing your beautiful story and room with us!
