When his kids started dreaming beyond their four walls, Michael Goins from My Wonderful Walls grabbed his paints. After hand-painting a mural in their oldest son’s room, he had a “light bulb” moment. Stained Glass Block Lamp

Angelika Parker of Sparky’s Stained Glass Art in Fort Eustis, VA says she was inspired to start stained glass art painting after seeing a window color set in Michael’s. She began making unique Christmas gifts for friends and family and that quickly turned into so much more. Her family encouraged her to start selling her work so in February of 2013, she opened Sparky’s Stained Glass Art on Etsy. Each piece is unique and Angelika hand paints/stains all her work.  Her framed artwork is protected by two pieces of glass. She uses free floating frames and paints on one piece of glass that is then covered by another piece of glass. So both sides are smooth and you can see the picture from both sides. She also does custom work and recently started doing some beaded earrings.

This one of a kind block lamp features a beautiful mosaic design and is painted with Gallery Glass Window Colors Paint on the outside. Meaning, if not handled with care, the paint can be scratched or peeled off. So only use a damp cloth to clean. The glass block is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches without the stand and comes with a black stand,  5 watt bulb, that's part of the accessory cord that is 5 feet long complete with an on and off switch. Saiisha from Art Peace Creations in Newark, DE says she first found photography when she turned 40, in the middle of a mid-life search for something. Walking in nature was like a conversation with herself and reaching within. When she touched a flower, watched a butterfly or reached for a blossoming branch, she felt a surge of something – like her soul spilling over - with joy, abandon, and abundance. She wanted to share that joy with others and found in Etsy the perfect online community who value creativity, art, seeing, creation. Shirley Dodge who hails from Hidden Valley Lake, CA says she loves to paint and screen print her designs on to fabric then put them together with other fabrics she collects and create bags, purses, totes and more!  Shirley says she has been drawn to textiles from a young age, maybe due to the comfort of growing up with her Grandmothers’ knitting projects, and “Auntie's sewing"  room where she made ballet costumes for the local theater company. When faced with the need to create decorations for her little sister’s wedding, she started making paper flowers and quickly realized she could string them together to make garland. They were a big hit and Katie soon realized she could sell them for events and home décor and Lille Syster was born. Blue Elephant Locket

Robin Lehto was inspired to start making lockets when a friend of hers had to move from one state to another and leave her cat behind. The little girl really loved her cat and loved lockets so a gift allowing her to keep the image of her cat close to her heart seemed like the perfect gift. As an art student Robin had been told by one of her professors “stop making those cartoons and focus on these. These are the paintings you make that will matter. The rest of your work is too cute, and will never be 'important' like these paintings are” and she listened. Frustrated that her paintings were not selling and she couldn’t make a living selling the cute creations she loved (or so she thought).

She moved to New York and became a puppeteer which gave her an outlet for her adorable creatures but wasn’t what she wanted long term.  Robin moved back to Oregon and discovered resin which was like glass. The medium allowed her to combine her original designs with a locket. Robin now creates her lockets in her Wilmington, NC studio and sells them on Etsy as well as in local boutique stores.
