Transcript: Painting with the Fanciful Fairies Wall Mural Stencil Kit

Michael – The Fanciful Fairy Kit is one of my favorite kits because it’s magical, whimsical, and beautiful. When I designed this kit I wanted a child to be able to walk into her room and really feel a part of the scene, as if they walked into this giant garden with huge flowers, and toadstools, and really playful fairies. I wanted children to be able to relate with these fairies, so they’re not cartoon like, they are childlike. Except they have wings. They wear children’s clothing, and they play throughout the whole garden. This kit is really spectacular. Your girl’s going to love it. Use white chalk to sketch in the hills. Use bleed proof painters tape to tape along the chalk line.  Now, paint the hills. Remove the tape, and wipe off the chalk. Carefully remove the stencil from the backing paper. Fold a corner of the stencil, and place the stencil on the wall. This two part stencil contains notches, for easy alignment. Make sure all the edges are down and start painting. Use a dabbing motion and paint lightly. Two light coats work much better than one thick coat. Gently peel off the stencil. Paint in the unpainted area left by the stencil bridge. Now, fill in the rest of the scene. Use a hairdryer to speed things up. When reusing a stencil, pat it down with a paper towel to help keep it clean.
