Love of Travel Inspires Themed Kids Room Murals in Rochester, NY

Mom of two, Danielle tells us that she and her husband traveled for a year before having children. So when they thought about designing a room for each of their sons, they wanted the room to transport them to someplace else and perhaps inspire a love of travel. The jungle safari mural they created for son Trevor definitely creates the feeling of being in a tropical locale with that great orange background! Danielle was pleased enough with the Jungle Themed Wall Stickers that she purchased a set for her younger son, Kevin, this time the Under the Sea themed stickers. She explains that as luck would have it, Trevor seems partial to fish and sea lions while Kevin is more like a bear at the moment. At least they can visit each other’s rooms and explore their interests!

My Wonderful Walls: Where did you create your murals?
Danielle: Rochester, NY

MWW: Who is the mural intended for?
Danielle: The first one was the jungle themed mural for my son Trevor and the ocean theme is for Kevin.

MWW: What was your child's reaction to the wall mural when he first saw it?
Danielle: They were both too little to have a reaction. However, we LOVE it. My nieces, Sarah and Sofia are the ones who designed each room. They did it all by themselves and they did a FANTASTIC job. Way better than I would have ever done.

MWW: Do your kids ever make up stories or create imaginary games involving the characters/scenes on their walls?
Danielle: They are still too little, but my two year old talks about the monkeys on the wall, and my little one loves feeling the texture of the stickers on the wall.

MWW: How long did it take to complete the project?
Danielle: 1-2 hours

MWW: What did you enjoy about the wall mural creation experience? Was it what you had expected?
Danielle: Loved that it is a gift from my nieces to my sons.

MWW: Did you add any personal touches to the standard wall mural you received?
Danielle: We added some blue birds to the jungle theme and an extra turtle to the ocean theme. The folks at My Wonderful Walls were super accommodating and easy to order from.

MWW: Do you have a favorite piece or favorite scene you created? If so, please describe.
Danielle: I love the door with the flowers and bird and the little ocean bottom scenes.

Even though our wall stickers are pretty easy to work with, Danielle was pretty happy and impressed her nieces took this on. What a wonderful lasting gift Trevor and Kevin can treasure for many years to come.
