One of the best things about being a parent is watching them grow and mature. Even though pediatricians set certain month and year milestones for children, the fact of the matter is that children blaze their own trails and learn at their own unique paces. However, there is much to be said about the benefits of color, repetition, and sensory stimulation in the early months and years of life, as those things can really help boost a child’s development and promote increased interest in their world.
Recently a couple from Waterford, Ireland chatted with us about how our Friendly Farm wall sticker set has done just that – it has helped their newborn son begin to investigate his surroundings and learn as he enjoys his nursery décor.
When asked about the sticker set, the couple – Martin and Elaine – were thrilled with just how easy every sticker was to place on the wall. All in all, it took them somewhere in the neighborhood of a half hour to complete, but they did not go it alone. Decorating little Jack’s nursery was an all-hands-on-deck affair; one that got the whole family involved and smiling.
As Jack is their only child, Martin and Elaine were unsure how he would respond to the room, especially since he is only five month’s old. They were elated to find that he is already showing interest in the bright colors and shapes on his wall – something that is sure to spur along a lifelong love of animals in their little bear.
Martin and Elaine also echoed what so many parents tell us: the best part about our wall stickers is that they are resistant to wear and tear, and that they are easily removable and repositionable. This means that, for Jack, his room can grow and change with him as he grows and changes. When he is old enough to understand animal sounds and movements, he will delight in the realistic textures and vibrant colors of our animals.
Fortunately, he will not have to wait long to understand and experience the wonderful world of the farm animals in his room. His parents are already telling tales and creating fun stories based on the scenes and animals on his walls, so it will not be long before it is Jack that is taking he creative reigns and dreaming up adventures and storylines for all of his wall friends.
As the picture sent in by Martin and Elaine shows, the room they have created for their son is filled with whimsy and imagination. We are delighted to have gotten the chance to play a part in decorating their son’s room and can't wait to hear how they continue to change the room to meet the needs and creative juices of their sweet little one.
