Forest Friends Themed Teepees Prove Our Stencil Kits Aren’t Just For Walls! 2

    Forest Friends Teepee

Back in March, our friend Connie from kokoandkoko designs in the UK asked us if she could use our stencils on fabric for a teepee art project she was planning to do with young children. Brilliant idea, right?!  Connie has created many different lines of teepees and wigwams for children using a variety of designs and materials. This time she wanted to take the teepees to a new level by encouraging the children to create their own designs using our forest friends stencil kit hoping to ignite within them the same passion for arts and crafts she harbors within herself. We couldn’t wait to see how the teepees turned out! Here's what creative Connie had to say about this fun and rewarding experience:

My Wonderful Walls: How did you find out about My Wonderful Walls?
Connie: I stumbled across My Wonderful Walls while searching for reusable stencils using the Google search engine.

MWW: These teepees are amazing! What gave you the idea and inspiration for such a creative project?
Connie: Having made teepees with applique designs, I thought it was going to be interesting for children to take part in decorating and personalizing their own teepees using permanent fabric markers or paint. This project was aimed to help children develop their creativity and art skills by having fun. I also make plain teepees for doodle art where children can have hand prints, sponge art, and any doodles from their great imaginations.

MWW: What are the first names of the people who did the mural on the teepee?
Connie: The names of the children in the picture are Bithiah (girl aged 10yrs) and Shemaiah (boy aged 6yrs).

MWW: Where was your masterpiece created?
Connie: Essex in United Kingdom.

MWW: For whom is this mural intended?
Connie: This was my new design and lines of teepees and wigwams and intended for children.

MWW: What product did you purchase?
Connie: I purchased the Forest Friends Reusable Stencil Kit.

MWW: Tell us a little about why you choose this theme and what made this mural a good fit for your project?
Connie: I love nature and wildlife. The Forest Friends Stencil Kit has all of the classic nature designs that will always be appealing to little ones.

MWW: What was your son's reaction to the mural when he first saw it?
Connie: My son loved it. He was happy when I asked him to show his art skills by painting the teepee.

MWW: How long did it take to complete the project?
Connie: It took [the kids] a few days as an after school project and a weekend. My son asked if I could create another teepee to paint.

MWW: Obviously you have lots of artistic skill, but describe your artistic comfort level. Have you always had a love for arts and crafts?
Connie: I live for art, crafts, and any other creative activities. Having worked as a children's clothing and accessory designer for many years, designing is my life. I enjoy experimenting, but often I don’t have enough time to try all my designs.

MWW: What did you enjoy most about the teepee mural creation experience?
Connie: I enjoyed using the stencils to create a small indoor wildlife scene.

MWW: Was it what you had expected?
Connie: It is definitely what I expected and I would like to try different media or paint if time permits.

MWW: What did the kids think about the process/experience?
Connie: They would like to do another one. I would like them to colour a lampshade, cushion, or a canvas bag.

MWW: Did you add any personal touches to the teepee other than what came with the kit?
Connie: I added the brown and green felt at the bottom to create landscapes.

MWW: Do you have any helpful tips for people who use our products?
Connie: My advice to people is: do not hesitate to invest in one of the My Wonderful Walls mural kits and grow your creativity. You definitely will not be disappointed but will be amazed with the "WOW " results.

MWW: Did you utilize any or all of the resources on our main website (how-to videos, virtual mural maker, or customer photos)?
Connie: I did not use any videos or virtual mural maker because I had my ideas flowing before purchasing the kit. All I needed was to interpret it onto the fabric.

MWW: Would you recommend our products to others? why, or why not.
Connie: I cannot recommend your product enough. Your products are impeccably awesome, and easy to use. With your products there are guaranteed beautiful wall murals for those special people in your life.

Pet Salon Uses Dog and Cat Wall Decals to Make Their Clients Feel Right at Home 0

Pet Salon Mural

No wonder customers flock to the Canine Carousel to have their four legged family members pampered in style. This unique grooming salon is five star when it comes to giving pets the all-star treatment from the loving, well-trained staff to the services they offer to the décor. That’s right folks, dogs and cats need a colorful place to get their beauty on too! That’s why Lil and daughter Nikki came to us when they wanted to redecorate their Ashburn, VA location. Our Paws Park Wall Stickers were a wonderful way to add some animal inspired décor with ease. For a family run business in a hurry to add some fun elements to their blah walls, our fabric wall stickers did the trick!

Canine Carousel Pet Salon and Boutique has been around since 1977 and has locations in Ashburn VA and Herndon VA. Lil is mom to four daughters, three of whom work in the pet salons with her as well as dad who helps run the business and drives the pet taxi. They also count their other staff amongst their family and take a lot of pride in their vocation.

When Lil and Nikki were looking for dog and cat stickers online, they found My Wonderful Walls. They thought stickers were a better fit than stencils because of their time crunch. Though their form of art usually comes by the way of pet grooming, they felt pretty confident when using our wall stickers. Being able to move the stickers around with ease was a big plus. The pair were able to use our customer gallery photos for inspiration and painted in two toned hills to add depth to their mural. Being able to stand back and admire their final masterpiece in less than an hour (after painting) was impressive.

The owners at Canine Carousel say their customers had nothing but good things to say about the dog and cat mural. Now when pets come in for a spa day, they will feel right at home in this animal friendly environment.

If you are a dog and cat lover or want to spruce up your pet business, check out our Paws Park Wall Decal Set as well as our Paws Park Stencils for mural making. You can also purchase these stickers and stencils a la carte if you just want to add a few touches here and there. Our fabric wall stickers are tear-resistant, repositionable, eco-friendly and have no white edges so they look painted on. Our self-adhesive stencils are easy to use and use again and again. We even sell the paints and brushes to make your own mural a masterpiece!

Dean Russo Pit Bull Dog Decal Makes Perfect Addition to One Pet Lovers Mural 0

Dog Wall Mural

Once in a while customers send us pictures of a project they created using our wall decals or wall stencils and we just have to know more about it. Then on occasion we get to really know more about the people and in this case pets behind the mural and more times than not are touched by their stories. Recently, Diane H. in Lake Orion, Michigan shared a picture of a wall mural she created showing off her love of her dogs with one of our Dean Russo Wall Stickers at the center of it. We could see right away she was an animal lover and a fan of Dean’s work so we wanted to find out more about what sparked such a great looking animal themed mural.

Diane and her husband Calvin are parents to two daughters, Vanessa and Kasidy. They are also raising 3 dogs and 3 cats who you could say all have a checkered past. Diane was volunteering at the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center in 2012 when Venus, a now four year old pit bull was dumped there. Diane had the responsibility of walking the stray pit bulls. You see pit bulls are not adoptable at the shelter, and can only be pulled by a rescue who then fosters them. Diane instantly fell in love with Venus who she remembers was a joy to walk and loved attention. It took a while but Venus was finally sent to a rescue to be fostered and Diane figured that was the last she’d see of her. But soon, fate had other plans and brought the two of them back together when Venus needed a quiet place to be fostered upon recovering from a double knee surgery. Calvin wasn’t too sure at first but he too fell head over heels for Venus when he saw what a sweet heart she was. Diane and Calvin ended up adopting Venus and she’s been part of the family ever since.

Rescue DogsAbout a year and a half later, Diane found Watson a ten year old fox terrier who was in pretty rough shape while volunteering at the shelter. She took him home thinking it would be a hospice situation but happily after months of TLC and lots of home cooked meals, Watson got stronger. He is now a happy, healthy member of the family too! Floyd, another pit bull Diane met at the shelter, joined the family a little later that year when she was able to temporarily foster him. Of course, as she had pretty much fallen in love with Floyd already, it was no surprise that she decided to keep him after that.

Their three cats are Ashley, a 14 year old they brought home from Bolivia, Sasha, a 6 year old they adopted on impulse at the local PetSmart, and Finn, a 4 year old one eyed cat they took in from the street. They are all a part of this big, loving family as well now.

Pit Bull Dog Wall ArtDiane currently works part-time at a local pet store that sells healthy food and treats for dogs and cats and is still volunteering at the animal shelter when she can. Pet adoption is a very important passion of hers and many of her friends as well. She had previously purchased three Dean Russo prints, including a framed “Lover Not a Biter” print that you can see in the wall mural and a few of his tee-shirts. A friend had the Beware of Pit Bulls Wall Decal on the wall of her pet business and when Diane found out where she got it from, she looked My Wonderful Walls up online. She then purchased two of the In a Perfect World Wall Decals as well as the All You Need is Love Panda Decal from Balázs Solti for her daughter and the Madman’s Sunrise Wall Sticker from Lyle Hatch. One of the dog decals, she actually donated for a friend’s auction to raise funds for her foster dog’s operation which is pretty awesome! But now she needed a plan for what to do with her pit bull wall sticker. She admits she left it sitting on its backing paper for a while because she just wasn’t sure where to put it. Then inspiration struck! Diane says she remembered she had a custom painted picture of her three dogs that she hadn’t hung up yet and thought that the two pieces of art might go good together. From then it on it was a domino effect as she remembered a framed Dean Russo print in her basement, a photo enlargement of one of the dogs and a few other colorful dog pics that might all go together. She had recently taken down some canvas art on her stairwell and had a big blank wall left, so she thought she’d try the seven dog art items there. After rearranging a few times on the floor to get it how she liked it all, she began to put the eclectic pet mural on the wall. We think it looks just wonderful!

DogsDiane tells us she’s bought other wall decals from places like Target before but they didn’t compare to the My Wonderful Walls material. She described our stickers as having a much thicker feeling, a cross between vinyl and fabric and appreciated that there wasn’t a visible border on the wall. She didn’t worry the decal would rip at all and even had to peel the dog sticker off a few times to rearrange it but says it never lost any of its stickiness. Got to love that! Now she tells us she’s bought another Dean Russo wall decal, the In a Perfect World, in size large but is still figuring out where it will go. We can’t wait to see what other projects Diane gets into and wish her and her family all the best!

Whether you’re an animal enthusiast or foster animals in your home, we think you’ll love the Dean Russo Art collection and have many other animal art decals available as well. If pet rescue and adoption is something of interest to you please check out the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals page or your local animal shelter’s website for more information on ways to help.

New Animal Art by Andreas Preis – Meet the Artist! 2

If you love bold, intricate animal art we think you’ll love our Andreas Preis collection of wall decals. The work of this Bavarian artist is anything but tame. My Wonderful Walls has brought his nature inspired illustrations to our site in the form of wall stickers so everyone can enjoy his art whether they rent or own. Check out the Andreas Preis Collection for inspirational animal art you can adhere to your windows, walls, doors, mirrors and more.

Artist Andreas PreisAndreas Preis was born in the Bavarian Forest in the south of Germany and now lives and works in Berlin. He has always had a love of drawing, painting and creating and studied Communications Design in Nuremberg, graduating with a diploma in 2009. Working towards his five year old self’s dream of being a “painter without a boss”, he is now a freelance illustrator and designer. The artist uses a technique called cross hatching to create the details seen in his illustrations. Almost everything is drawn by hand in his illustrations though he still relies on technology for some of it. His work includes not only illustrations on paper but logos, longboard designs and 3D projects like the Butterfly Effect.

Some of our favorite decals in the Andreas Preis collection are part of his “LIFE” series where he has paired animals with simple instructions like, “Learn, Hope or Love”. According to an interview, Mr. Preis did with Digital Arts Online, there is an idea behind every animal. Some of the connections between the text and animal were literal and others were more symbolic.  The use of texture, color and symmetry in each of these pieces makes them dynamic and appealing.

There are also cutout animal decals in this collection like Fox, a sly fellow in orange, rust, green and white. Or bird lovers might want to check out Blue Owl, a serene owl sticker in blue, tan, black and grey. Just like all My Wonderful Walls decals, the Andreas Preis collection is made with SafeCling, a high-quality polyester fabric material that is mess-free, removable, re-positionable and eco-friendly. Our wall stickers look painted on because there are no white edges and come in a variety of sizes perfect for any space. Made in the USA with loving care, it is our pleasure to help you find the perfect wall decal or wall stencil for any space in your home, office or business.

Animal lovers and art lovers will adore the new Andreas Preis Collection from My Wonderful Walls. You can find more Andreas Preis art on his website or Behance page. Or for a behind-the-scenes glimpse at his art, be sure to follow him on Instagram.

Introducing Wall Decals with Art from Balázs Solti - Meet the Artist 0

It’s pretty wonderful that with today’s technology, My Wonderful Walls, a small wall décor business in Chattanooga, TN can partner with Hungarian artist Balázs Solti to bring quirky, witty art wall decals to their online collection. Having offered original artwork in wall stickers and wall stencils for many years, owner Michael Goins wanted to add art from artists around the globe that would diversify their wall sticker offerings. With wife and co-owner, Stephanie, he found several artists whose work they loved and allowed their business to add to their wall decal offerings for both kids rooms and adults. With his passion for portraying animals, skulls and portraits in his art, Balázs has been a great addition to the My Wonderful Walls featured artist’s collection. Here’s a little more about the artist and his work:

My Wonderful Walls: Where were you born?
Balázs Solti: I was born in Budapest, Hungary.

MWW: Where do you live now?
Balázs Solti: I live in Budapest, I have never lived elsewhere, and it’s a beautiful and lively city.

MWW: Were you always interested in art? How did you begin? When did you begin?
Balázs Solti: I drew a lot as a child but I never studied drawing professionally. When I was teenager the drawing went forgotten for a while, other things were more important.

MWW: When did it turn professional?
Balázs Solti: I started drawing again (around 2009-2010), so it turned professional in the last 2 years.

MWW: Did you go to school to study art/graphic art?
Balázs Solti: I never went to art school, I'm a self-taught artist. I studied graphic design and web design in courses, and then I started drawing again to create designs freely.

MWW: What inspires your art?
Balázs Solti: Music, TV, films, or just surfing on the net, read an article are also great inspiration sources for me. Even if it's cliché you can find inspiration everywhere.

MWW: What medium do you prefer? Digital? Acrylic? Water colors? Etc.
Balázs Solti: I create my artworks digitally for prints, because I can easily modify them, the background and the drawing are on separate layers, I can change colors anytime and there is an undo button. :) In my free time I'm making acrylic paintings, pencil and ink drawings.

MWW: What is your favorite thing/subject matter to create?
Balázs Solti: I like to paint/draw animals, skull and portraits.

MWW: Where do you do most of your artwork? Describe your creative environment.
Balázs Solti: I'm working at home with a great view of the mountain.

MWW: What are some of your other interests?
Balázs Solti: Music, not just listening, I play the guitar. I do sports regularly, I like TV series, read books, watch football (European) etc.

MWW: Do you live solely off your art or do you have another job/career?
Balázs Solti: Thanks to sites like I can make a living as an artist/full time illustrator.

MWW: How did you get involved with My Wonderful Walls initially?
Balázs Solti: Stephanie contacted me through my Facebook page:

We think you’ll love the often irreverent and always fun art from Balázs Solti in wall decal form on our site. Shop for such stickers as 80’s Girl featuring a poodle dressed like she just stepped off the set of Flashdance. Or for the Breaking Bad fans, how about Say My Name a witty lion decal for all you Walter White lovers. Check out the entire Balázs Solti wall sticker collection now available in many different shapes and sizes great for bedrooms, living rooms, dens, office spaces, dorm rooms, restaurants and more!
